An old world vacation awaits you
but you don’t have to endure an 8-hour airplane ride to get
there. A walled city, the only one in North America, is just
minutes away and you only have to change one time zone. Jet
lag, I don’t think so - not in this adventure. We will fly into
Montreal and then bus along the frozen banks of the St. Lawrence
River to the “old city” district to your hotel, the Fairmont Le
Chateau Frontenac, a first class hotel that defines first class.
Once you have unpacked, your choices will
overwhelm you. You can ski at one of three mountains:
Stoneham
is 20 minutes away, where the locals go to ski after work on the
lighted trails, and where the boarders enjoy three terrain
parks;
Mont-Sainte Anne
is 30 minutes away, also lighted and facing the St. Lawrence
River;
Le Massif
is 45 minutes away, the largest and most picturesque of the
three. Le Massif is an upside down mountain where you arrive at
the top and ski down to the lifts. These three resorts have
over 260 inches of natural snow each year, over 6,000 feet of
vertical drop, a mountain playground of some 4,500 acres, and an
impressive total of 141 ski and snowboard trails for all
levels. Access the ski slopes on special
ski buses every day from the hotel.
If you prefer, get involved in one of the 400th
Anniversary Festivities celebrating the founding of the city, or
explore the old city with its winding streets and unique one-
of- a-kind shops while you try out your high school French.
With all the activities, you will get hungry but don’t despair,
there’s over 1,000 restaurants to discover. After dinner, enjoy
the nightlife at one of the 75 bars and night clubs within
walking distance from your hotel.
Soak up the history, This is truly old world
experience with new world convenience. Don’t miss out, the
deadline is fast approaching.
Cost: $1,396, Oct. $900, Nov. $300, Dec. $196 plus lift
tickets.
